Northland Connection: Quarterly Program Update

2024 Quarter 2

In the continuing effort to increase access to information on the commercial and industrial sites and buildings listed on Northland Connection, the most comprehensive site selection database for the Arrowhead of Minnesota, has added parcel data layers from Aitkin, Carlton, Itasca, and St. Louis counties.

When zoomed in, clicking on the parcel layer displays the parcel identification number (PID), and where available: taxing district, address, and acreage. Additional information such as ownership and owner address can be obtained from the county assessors.

In the next quarter, we will be looking at options to unify the counties into a single data layer with standardized formatting between data sources and a determined update cycle.

To access this new data simply click ‘parcel’ in the map layers box when searching the property database:

The layers can also be found for community or regional data under the mapping tab on the left:

2024 Quarter 1

Northland Connection has added a couple of regional data layers, one for the Taconite Assistance Area (the service area of the Department of Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation) and one for the Duluth – MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area, composed of St. Louis and Carlton counties in Minnesota and Douglas county in Wisconsin) which enables you to both filter properties to those within the specified geographic area and to aggregate any of the data/statistics that we provide across those regions.

You can select either of these options from the region drop down. From the main page click ‘Region Overview’, From there you can select the region you would like data for.
