The mission of the Cloquet Economic Development Authority (EDA) is to take an active role in attracting new businesses to the community, retaining existing businesses, assisting businesses with expansion, and enabling rehabilitation and/or redevelopment of areas within the community.
The goal of EDA work is to grow the local economy through focused efforts that stimulate economic investment and grow prosperity in the Cloquet region.
The EDA is composed of seven members, including five at-large and two council members who are appointed by the City Council. Together they provide a community platform for local economic discussion and decision making.
The Cloquet EDA has staff support through the Community Development Department, with Director of Community Development Holly Hansen (pictured at right) acting as the Cloquet EDA Director. The Cloquet EDA meets the first Wednesday of every month at 8:00 a.m. in the Cloquet City Hall Council Chambers.
