Ali Bilden Camps joined Northspan in 2022 as a consultant and provides community and organizational development services. Ali also manages the NORTHFORCE program, connecting career-minded individuals with professional advancement opportunities and supporting our regional employers’ current and future workforce needs.
Ali brings over 15 years of nonprofit management and community development experience including working with
organizations and individuals across all sectors. She has roots in northern Wisconsin and has called northeast Minnesota home for almost 20 years.
Here’s a quick Q&A with Ali:
How did you get involved with Northspan? What drew you to your current role?
I began working with Northspan as a consultant for the NORTHFORCE program. In May 2022, I started full time as a consultant for Northspan and program manager for NORTHFORCE. I was drawn to my current role because I enjoy working with employers and candidates, as well as partnering with workforce development agencies throughout the region to improve the economic landscape of northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Can you share highlights from key projects and initiatives you’re focused on right now?
NORTHFORCE regularly hosts career fairs and other types of events to connect employers with candidates and students who are interested in summer jobs, full-time employment, post-graduation employment, and internships. With the Workforce Development Board, we also offer the Workforce Solutions luncheon series for employers seeking resources for hiring and training.
I also enjoy working with the Northspan team on strategic planning projects throughout the region, and supporting the Welcoming Community, Northland Connection, and D.A.W.N. programs.
What do you enjoy the most about working with Northspan?
The best thing about working at Northspan is being part of a high-achieving, mission-based team of professionals. I also enjoy creating relationships throughout the community to partner on projects like child care, employment, strategic planning, and community engagement.
